RCIP Steinbach 2026: intake status, priority sectors and occupations
What the Steinbach Rural Community Immigration Pilot actually requires right now, taken from Steinbach Economic Development Corporation and re-checked every month. Most guides to this programme are months out of date.
Intake open · verified 2 October 2026
The October window opened on 1 October. It closes at 15 applications or on the 15th, whichever comes first.
Steinbach opens on the first business day of each month and closes as late as the 15th, or as soon as 7 applications are received. Review runs from the 16th to month end. Two windows remain in 2026: November and December. Nothing announced for 2027.

The occupation list, and its traps
Steinbach publishes 25 priority occupations. Being on that list is necessary but not sufficient, and the detail below is where most self-prepared applications come apart.
The full list, with the codes and any wage requirements, is published by the community: see the official occupation list. We do not reproduce it here, because it changes mid-year and a stale copy is worse than no copy.

Processing
No processing time is published. Recommendation certificates are valid up to six months. The community cites IRCC processing exceeding one year as its reason for excluding visitor-status candidates.
Worth knowing
Seven health and caregiving occupations are exempt from the monthly and annual occupation caps. The designated employer list includes a petrol station, a convenience store and three restaurants even though the same page bars those business types, most likely legacy designations the community has not explained.
