RCIP Timmins 2026: intake status, priority sectors and occupations
What the Timmins Rural Community Immigration Pilot actually requires right now, taken from Timmins Economic Development Corporation and re-checked every month. Most guides to this programme are months out of date.
Next intake scheduled · verified 1 October 2026
Between windows. The next RCIP intake runs 13 to 16 October 2026.
The July 2026 intake was cancelled. The Francophone pilot runs a separate portal and its next window is 26 to 30 October. Applications sent to the wrong portal are declined.

The occupation list, and its traps
Timmins publishes 25 priority occupations. Being on that list is necessary but not sufficient, and the detail below is where most self-prepared applications come apart.
The full list, with the codes and any wage requirements, is published by the community: see the official occupation list. We do not reproduce it here, because it changes mid-year and a stale copy is worse than no copy.
Caps and limits
- Maximum 5 recommendations per employer for the 2026 calendar year
- Maximum 4 applications per employer per intake, from August 2026
- More than 4 in one intake means ALL of that employer's applications are rejected
- No per-intake total cap since August 2026
- Community allocation for 2026 is not published

No published service standard. The Selection Committee reviews shortlisted applications at the end of every month. Recommendation certificates are valid six months.
Worth knowing
The catchment is wider than Timmins itself and includes Hearst, Kapuskasing, Cochrane, Kirkland Lake and Temiskaming Shores. Several widely circulated guides omit Temiskaming Shores and wrongly describe a September RCIP intake that does not exist.
