RCIP Altona and Rhineland 2026: intake status, priority sectors and occupations
What the Altona and Rhineland Rural Community Immigration Pilot actually requires right now, taken from Altona Rhineland Economic Development (A.R.E.D.) and re-checked every month. Most guides to this programme are months out of date.
Intake open · verified 2 October 2026
Open year-round. Recommendations are issued first come, first served throughout the year.
There are no intake windows, no draw calendar and no published closing date. Whether the 2026 allocation is exhausted is not published either way. Nothing has been announced for 2027.

The occupation list, and its traps
Altona and Rhineland publishes 25 priority occupations. Being on that list is necessary but not sufficient, and the detail below is where most self-prepared applications come apart.
The full list, with the codes and any wage requirements, is published by the community: see the official occupation list. We do not reproduce it here, because it changes mid-year and a stale copy is worse than no copy.
Caps and limits
- Food and Beverage Retailers: maximum 2 recruits per designated employer
- No annual allocation figure is published
- No other occupation or employer caps published
Who cannot use this programme
- Consulates and staffing agencies
- Businesses owned by an immigration representative
- Businesses owned or controlled by the applicant or their spouse
- Any job located outside the Town of Altona or the Municipality of Rhineland

Intake windows in 2026
- No intake windows - continuous first come, first served
Processing
No processing time is published by the community, and IRCC publishes none for the pilot. Third-party figures of 12 to 18 months have no official basis.
Worth knowing
The catchment is unusually tight: only the Town of Altona and the Municipality of Rhineland. A job elsewhere does not qualify even if the employer is designated. The community's own general immigration page is badly out of date and still describes the closed predecessor programme, so only the RCIP sub-pages should be relied on.
Official sources
Everything above is taken from the community's own pages, not from secondary reporting:
- Programme page — Altona Rhineland Economic Development (A.R.E.D.)
- Designated employer list
- Community boundary map
- IRCC — Rural and Francophone Community Immigration Pilots
